Three Bayesian Tracer Models: Which Is Better for Determining Sources of Root Water Uptake Based on Stable Isotopes under Various Soil Water Conditions?

چکیده
Stable hydrogen and oxygen isotopes provide a powerful technique for quantifying the proportion of root water uptake (RWU) from different potential sources. Although many models coupled with stable have been developed to estimate plant source apportionment, inter-comparisons methods are still limited, especially their performance under soil content (SWC) conditions. In this study, three Bayesian tracer mixing models, which included MixSIAR, MixSIR SIAR, were tested evaluate performances in determining RWU winter wheat various SWC conditions (normal, dry wet) North China Plain (NCP). The proportions layers showed significant differences (p < 0.05) among example, 0–20 cm layer calculated by MixSIR, MixSIAR SIAR was 69.7%, 50.1% 48.3% third sampling condition 0.05), respectively. Furthermore, average lower than that normal wet conditions, being 45.7%, 58.3% 59.5%, No difference > found main depth (i.e., cm) except individual periods. allocation varied conditions: indicators such as coefficient determination (R2) Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency (NS) higher showing performed well rank then SIAR. Overall, relatively better other predicting moisture

Regulation of root water uptake under abiotic stress conditions.
A common effect of several abiotic stresses is to cause tissue dehydration. Such dehydration is caused by the imbalance between root water uptake and leaf transpiration. Under some specific stress conditions, regulation of root water uptake is more crucial to overcome stress injury than regulation of leaf transpiration. This review first describes present knowledge about how water is taken up b...
متن کاملWhich Methodology is Better for Combining Linear and Nonlinear Models for Time Series Forecasting?
Both theoretical and empirical findings have suggested that combining different models can be an effective way to improve the predictive performance of each individual model. It is especially occurred when the models in the ensemble are quite different. Hybrid techniques that decompose a time series into its linear and nonlinear components are one of the most important kinds of the hybrid model...
متن کاملDynamic modeling of root water uptake using soil moisture data
In this work a dynamic model of water uptake from plants growing in naturally vegetated areas subjected to a rainfall and evaporation time series is described. The model results are compared and contrasted with popular pre-existing models. Also, the effects of the uptake pattern on the movement of water across multiple soil layers are also analyzed. The results showed that contrary to common mo...

soil unsaturated zone is one of the important parts of hydrological cycle that has an especial role in agricultural water resources management. the objective of this research was to determine the amount of root water uptake under simultaneous water, salinity, and nitrogen stresses as prevailing conditions in arid and semi-arid regions. to do so, the experiment was conducted with four quantitati...
متن کاملReconstructing plant root area and water uptake profiles
A major challenge in plant ecology is quantifying how roots interact with the soil to obtain water and nutrients. Stable isotope analysis of hydrogen and oxygen bound in plant and soil water is one of the best and least destructive methods for elucidating plant-soil interactions. Plant roots obtain water from various depths in the soil and the isotopic signature of plant stem water reflects the...
